Charlene completed a degree in Criminal Justice Studies at Bradford University and after a few years temping in various offices doing various roles she joined the SDH team and brought with her the knowledge of different systems. She was able to adapt to new systems and procedures and has used her knowledge to establish a strong back office system.

Head of Operations
Carl joined SDH in January 2019 as Head of Operations. He has 15 years experience working within the Telecoms industry, leading large operational teams through change and transformation. Prior to joining SDH, Carl worked for BT where he has spent most of his career. During this time, he has held many senior roles leading call centres on and offshore, field engineering teams and recruitment. Most recently he was the Openreach Regional General Manager for the South West of England Service Delivery team, responsible for providing and maintain 1.8m customer connections.
Carl has expertise in leading large organisations through growth and transformation. He specialises in Customer Service and People Development. He also has significant knowledge of the telecoms landscape including OFCOM regulation.

The early part of Sat's career was spent with Pirelli as an Electrical Engineer/Contracts Manager. This was followed by 10 years with SSE (formerly Scottish & Southern Energy) firstly as a Construction Manager and he then moved into Safety. Business streams included Power Networks, Wind Farms, Power Stations and Transmission. Major projects included the rolling out a new SHE Management System and a Behavioural Safety programme across various businesses in the group.
Since then Sat has been self-employed as a Safety Consultant for various businesses including O’Connor Utilities, Integrated Switchgear Solutions (for Hanson Cement) and Yorkshire Water.
Sat is responsible for all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality issues within SDH Project Services Ltd.
City Fibre Operations Manager
Pete joined SDH in July 2019 and has 30 years experience of utilities work, originating from working on water mains re-lining at the age of 16. However, during the water drought of 1994 Pete switched to telecoms.
Pete has worked on several telecommunications networks picking up a wealth of experience and knowledge. He has worked his way up into management attaining many accreditations along the way, as well as a great knowledge and experience working for several central London local authorities. From NRSWA inspections of Downing Street to resurfacing works around Buckingham Palace, Pete has always remembered where his journey started and has kept in touch with his previous colleagues along the way. Pete states that "it has been a fantastic journey and I have learnt a lot about projects and delivery".
The attraction for Pete to join SDH was the ambition of the company which has rubbed off on to an extremely hard-working team throughout. "Long may it continue with this ambitious and hard-working team at SDH".
With nearly 20 years experience in accounts within the supply chain management and transport industries, Neil Joined SDH in July 2017 to assist in the accounts department.
Neil has rapidly progressed up to the role of management accountant and liaises with clients, suppliers, internal staff and senior management to ensure that accurate P&Ls are produced across the various projects that SDH are engaged on.
Project Recruitment Manager
Craig is an accomplished Recruitment Professional, having worked with a number of high profile clients in the UK and Internationally, recruiting world class talent, from Engineers to Directors. Primarily Craig has worked in the Telecommunications sector but has experience working in other sectors such as Defence, Engineering and IT.
Craig uses his extensive knowledge and expertise to ensure that only the best candidates are chosen and they are committed to providing high quality care to their allocated roles and maintaining the highest standards and quality.
Outside of work Craig spends time with family and friends, travelling and keeping himself fit in the gym.
Head of Special Projects
Pete Joined SDH in 2017 as the National Fibre Manager. He has over 25 years experience in managing the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications infrastructure throughout the UK for several blue-chip operators.
Pete has an expertise in the design and construction of next generation networks including PON and GPON. He also specialises in advanced testing of Fibre networks and optical budgets. He acts for British Telecommunications as an independent expert witness on their infrastructure damages and meets with OFCOM on changes in legislation relating to PIA (Physical Infrastructure Assets). For most of Pete’s time he managed both individuals and large teams of engineers for a leading communications solutions provider.
Prior to that he had six years managerial experience with a civil engineering company working within the communications arena.
Project Manager Overhead Lines
Phil joined SDH in April 2017 and has over 27 years, experience within the telecommunications and power industries. Phil started off on the tools duct laying and chamber/manhole building on BT and cable TV contracts both on the public highway and trackside for Racal Telecom. He then moved on to fibre cabling and have now been involved since 1998.
Phil has also been heavily involved with the HV/LV power networks for various DNO’s. Duct laying and mains cable laying UG, and also installing/maintaining their fibre network infrastructures both OH and UG. In recent years, he has managed what was the biggest blown fibre project in Europe at that time (SYDR) as the cable contractor.
"Over the years I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience and hopefully built up a good reputation for providing clients with the kind of honest service they expect. I still have a great professional working relationship with most of them and keep in regular touch with quite a lot of them.
We have a great team here at SDH which pulls together to get the job done efficiently and effectively to a high standard. Our reputation for delivering a great job is growing by the day. Long may it continue."
Project Manager Overhead Lines
Steve joined SDH in 2017 as a Regional Fibre Supervisor and has since been Promoted to Project Manager for our projects on the Overhead Network.
Steve has over 30 years experience within the military and telecommunications industry. He began his career in the British Army, joining the Royal Corps of Signals Training as a TeleMech which led him to work around the World installing and maintaining copper and fibre networks.
Upon leaving the military he became a Fibre Optic Engineer working on Cable TV Networks around the UK, gaining a wealth of experience in the installation, jointing and testing of optical networks.
Following that he spent several years working on the KCOM Network, installing dedicated fibre routes for Business users. It was here that he became the senior test engineer on the SYDR project - Europe’s largest Blown Fibre Network.
Project Manager (north)
Jim Joined the SDH Management Team in July 2017. He has over 25 years experience within the Telecommunications Sector, which started back in 1990 after he joined the Royal Corps of Signals, training as a Telecommunications Engineer. He completed a full & distinguished career, leaving the HM Forces as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.
Jim has worked all over the World in some highly volatile areas and has been involved with and managed numerous projects covering Fibre Optics and Copper Infrastructure Installations.
As the Project Manager (north), Jim is responsible for the G Fast Pod implementation project for Morrison US across the North West and North East Sectors of England.
National Fibre Manager
Michael joined SDH as a Fibre Engineer in 2016. He quickly progressed to National Fibre Manager.
Michael is a well-seasoned field operative on the Openreach network. Prior to SDH, he had worked on all aspects of the Openreach copper and fibre network build and end user delivery.
Since working for SDH Michael has worked on, built, supervised, managed and coordinated projects in England and Wales on the BDUK (Broadband Delivery UK) and SEP (Superfast Extension Program) projects for Openreach, as well as the Arqiva project for Vodafone.
Project Consultant (south)
David has worked in the Telecommunications industry for over 30 years. He started his career as a Copper Jointer and has progressed to managing the building and maintenance of copper, fibre and mobile networks in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He is also adept at project planning, business development, customer relations and recruitment.
David is deeply committed to Health & Safety, Quality and Delivery.
Project Manager (Scotland)
David joined SDH in August 2016 as a Project Coordinator in Scotland & has recently been promoted to Project Manager covering a range of projects in Scotland.
David was heavily involved on the BDUK project, involving copper ties, EO and CURE works. He has been on the ground with the engineers to further develop his knowledge of the works that engineers carry out.
Before joining SDH he worked as a work force planner for Mitie Facilities Management.
City Fibre Civils Manager
Stephen joined SDH in March 2019 bringing 13years utilities experience with him. He started as an engineer in Australia with Jemena Gas and Sydney Water before moving into the telecommunications sector. Stephen then joined Servicestream working on behalf of Telstra and the National Broadband Network (NBN) Australia where he moved into a management position and played a leading role in the delivery of broadband infrastructure projects nationwide.
On returning to the UK, Stephen took up the role of Contracts Manager working into City Fibre on their Coventry Build.
Stephen's current role is City Fibre Civils Manager overseeing the deployment of 500km of underground network in Huddersfield.
Business Development Consultant - Monitoring Solutions
Ian joined the team at SDH Project Services earlier in 2017 to expand the company's portfolio and to lead the Monitoring Solutions business unit.
He brings over 23 years of experience developing the exciting technology of distributed optical fibre sensors for the oil and gas industry.
In 1994, as one of the founder members of Sensa, the pioneers of Distributed Temperature Sensing for oil and gas, Ian developed the technology implementation into downhole reservoir monitoring before focusing on the pipeline industry. He was key to the integration following Sensa's acquisition by Schlumberger in 2001.
In 2008 Ian was part of the team that founded Fotech Solutions. Seizing on the potential of Distributed Acoustic Sensing to follow in the footsteps of DTS, Ian has been responsible for some of the first commercial projects of DAS – downhole monitoring, pipeline protection and other commercial applications.
In 2014, Ian started I-Gen Consulting to provide sales and project management to the industry and spent 3 years on contract to AP Sensing GmbH.
He is a member of the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) and also one the Group Leaders of SEAFOM, an industry forum focused on the use of optical Fibre sensors. He has published a number of patents and was a past winner of the Subsea Innovation Award presented by the Pipeline Industries Guild
Training and Development Manager
Phil joined SDH in April 2019 and has over 40 years experience. He spent the first 35 years of his career with BT, starting as an engineer and eventually covering all aspects of external engineering. Phil then progressed into management, first as Planning Manager then as Contract Manager for the North of England.
Once Phil left Openreach, he joined Morrisons Utilities as a General Manager on the Openreach contract, responsible for delivering BDUK. He then progressed onto the training and accreditation of engineers employed by Morrisons, also on the Openreach contract. Phil states that "the demand for Telecommunications resource continues to grow due to the introduction of Fibre to the home".
Phil is looking forward to the challenge of making sure SDH secures and trains quality engineers to meet demand.
Technical Stores Manager
George first worked for SDH-PS in 2010 as part of the team deploying a Fibre-Optic Backbone to the National Grid in NIGERIA.
George has over 40 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer, which started in 1976 when he joined the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME) as a Gun Fitter, after 19 years he left as an Artificer Weapons (Incorporated Mechanical Engineer).
He has worked in many locations including:- Power Stations, Rolling Mills, Bakeries, Cement Works and as a Line Manager/Engineering Instructor for the Nigerian Army.
In his current position, he is responsible for the Maintenance of Mechanical/equipment and working in the Stores when not on deployment.
Kristina joined SDH in 2019 with over 10 years experience in the transport sector. With her management CPC qualification at national and international level, she brings a valuable transport, logistical and budgetary insight to SDH. Kristina is the O licence holder for SDH.
Formerly Kristina worked for companies where her duties involved the direction of large fleets of heavy goods vehicles and plant, specifically for the transport of building materials and hazardous cargo. With SDH undergoing expansion, Kristina feels that it is vital that the 'backroom' work is tackled thoroughly and efficiently to generate a positive profile within the industry. Ultimately this will benefit our clients.
Alex started with the company in November 2017. With over ten years experience within the payroll industry her role was to implement new systems and processes to streamline the payroll for both internal employees and external sub-contractors.
She has since progressed to encompass a full HR role in charge of all on-boarding, maintenance of employee records and updating the company of any new policy changes as they arise
Senior Quantity Surveyor
After studying and graduating as a Quality Surveyor in Nigeria, Sylvester became a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) UK and has over 15 years experience in engineering projects in both the UK and abroad. As well as this Sylvester studied further and attained a Master of Science degree with Distinction in Quantity Surveying in Mechanical and Electrical Services from the University of Salford, Manchester.
Prior to this, Sylvester worked on many multi-million pounds projects in the areas of built environment mechanical and electrical services, oil and gas onshore/offshore facilities fabrication, subsea pipe laying and civil works.
Sylvester brings to SDH a good track record and knowledge of contract management, cost control and monitoring, cost reporting and administration of contracts in EPCC and EPIC projects under NEC3, JCT, BIMCO, FIDIC, etc.
As a professional Quantity Surveyor, Sylvester says "I execute my duties in fairness and with a focus to deliver projects on budget, quality and time while enhancing client and stakeholders’ relationships for future works".
Ashley joined SDH in 2018 as a SHEQ advisor.
Ashley previously served over 20 years in the RAF as a Survival Equipment fitter specialising in freefall parachuting. Upon leaving the RAF he retrained in Environmental Protection and Health & Safety.
Ashley soon started working as a Health & Safety advisor for a high voltage electrical contractor, where he oversaw the Health & Safety of many complex projects fitting HV switchgear.
"My previous work experiences have equipped me with great attention to detail and looking after people’s welfare. I use these skills in the execution of my job here at SDH".
Jason joined SDH as our Recruitment Consultant in 2018.
He has previously work as an Engineer in the construction/civil sector but moved into recruitment following an injury. Since then he has flourished and has over 5 years experience in recruitment, working in various sectors including Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction, Demolition, Infrastructure, Remediation, Housing and Groundworks, successfully placed thousands of candidates.
Senior Technical Auditor
Steve is the Technical Auditor at SDH and carries out extensive checks on all FTTP Surveys completed. This ensures that any information being passed back to the client has been vetted by an experienced technical engineer.
Steve worked for Openreach for 31 years, covering all aspects of the access network latterly working within the controls. He took redundancy for a year but missed the hustle and bustle of a busy working environment. Steve joined the SDH team in January 2017.
Dr Uwaoma Ochonogor
Business Project Analyst
Uwa Joined SDH in January 2018 to support our business in its international endeavours. He has a background in engaging different levels of stakeholders and providing support and solutions to medium and large-scale enterprises, across a range of financial functions, business processes and development.

Commercial Lead, City Fibre
Ella joined SDH in August 2016 as a Project Co-ordinator on the Endeavour project. She has since been involved with numerous projects within the company and is now supporting the Commercial Manager across all work streams.
Ella has previously worked on projects within the NHS and private healthcare sector.
Abbigail joined the commercial team at SDH in June 2019 as a Commercial Co-ordinator where she works alongside the Commercial Lead on multiple projects. Prior to SDH, Abbigail worked for Mace Ltd on construction projects such as Primark Birmingham, Sky Leeds and Royal Mail. Abbigail is currently finishing her first year at Leeds College of Building with hopes to progress and achieve her degree.
Senior Fibre Co-ordinator
Elaina Joined the SDH team in November 2016 and has grown with SDH to become our Fibre Project Coordinator. She is now a Senior Fibre Co-ordinator and has over 12 years experience in a co-ordinating role.
Since starting with SDH she has held other roles including SDH's Transport Co-ordinator
City Fibre Street Works Co-ordinator
Richard has been working in the Streetworks sector for over 12 years, consisting of planning, co-ordination and using EToN, mainly in Electric Distribution from YEDL & Freedom to O'Connor Utilities. During Richard’s career he has liaised with various Local Authorities to make sure any civils and installation work has started and completed on time, leaving no loose ends. Now with the help of his new colleagues at SDH, Richard states that he hopes to deliver the same approach to getting work completed to an even higher standard.
S.P.O.C Senior Fibre Project Co-ordinator
Rebecca Robinson joined the SDH team in August 2016. Rebecca started as a Project Administrator and is now working as a Senior Project Co-ordinator.
In this time, Rebecca has worked across a variety of different projects and has developed an in-depth knowledge of all the projects we are running on the Civils, Copper & Fibre side of the business.
Senior Project Coordinator
Senthia joined SDH Project Services Ltd. as a Project Coordinator after a recommendation of a friend when SDH needed a French Speaker November 2015 for an OPGW project in Cote D’Ivoire where she is native. She has a Business Management and International Marketing Degree, she then worked in one of the Ecobank’s agency in Abidjan for 3 years before moving to the UK. She also has a BSc(Hon) Maritime Business and Management Degree, some professional diplomas in the maritime in the maritime field.
Since Senthia started in the company, she worked on most all the projects and more specially in all Fibre projects in the UK and the international projects. Her role is primary liaising between SDH Fibre team, including engineers, Project managers and other coordinators, Manage the Documentation and Support Functions for the Project Managers on all Clients related projects within SDH Reporting to the Project Managers and director.
Subcontract Payments Co-ordinator
Lauren joined the SDH team in April 2019 as a Transport Coordinator. Showing dedication and aptitude within this role, she was soon moved over to the recruitment and onboarding department. Since then she has been assigned along with our Recruitment Consultant and the HR department to streamline the complete recruitment and onboarding process.
Lauren previously worked in the Motor Insurance industry and gained customer service experience throughout a variety of roles including Claims, Customer Relations, Business Development and as a Commercial Underwriter and Schemes Developer.
After 5 years in the insurance industry, Lauren decided to have a change of career and gain new skills in recruitment.
Fibre Supervisor North
Paul Joined SDH in December 2016 as our Senior Fibre engineer. At the beginning of January 2017, he assisted the management team in setting out the Policy and procedures for the new ARQIVA contract.
As Senior Fibre Engineer, he has given guidance and training to the younger members of the fibre team in all aspects of their roles.
In August 2018, Paul was promoted to Fibre Supervisor for the Northern area.
Senior Construction Supervisor
Eric joined SDH from Morrison's utilities and states he never once looked back. He started as a civil supervisor in April 2019 and has been looking after SDH's subcontractor MAPs which have 5 to 6 teams. Eric received a promotion to Senior Supervisor and is now overseeing all of the other supervisors and their teams.
Chris joined SDH in January 2019 to complement the City Fibre contract for FttP for Huddersfield as the Fibre Supervisor. Chris previously worked for Openreach and Virgin Media as a service delivery engineer, working on both the CATV and fibre networks. He also supervised City Fibre FttP builds around the country with Granemoor Construction, carrying out network proving and testing.
Chris is fully conversant in G-PON and PON technologies testing/management, currently standing in as Civils Supervisor until the cabling programme starts with the Huddersfield build in early April.
Marie Joined the SDH Project Team in February 2017 as the BPON National Co-ordinator. She is now theGFAST Project Coordinator and is mainly working on our GFAST Pod Works project.
Marie has over 12 years experience within the utility sector, including civils works, working with British Gas on their smart meter projects and coordinating the North West Street Lighting works. This has provided her with the skills and knowledge to move into the telecommunication sector in 2014, after which she has worked mainly on copper projects.
Paulo has worked for SDH since July 2015, firstly in Gillingham as a Project Administrator, then in Scotland as a Project Coordinator from June 2016.
Paulo has also been working on the BDUK project supporting field staff, as he speaks fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Paulo has more than 20 years of experience in IT.
Loredana joined SDH in August 2017 as a Project Co-ordinator for the South of England. She has since accumulated a vast amount of knowledge on the Copper and GFAST side of the business.
Loredana is keen to continue learning more about the telecommunications sector and is very excited to be involved in more of the upcoming projects
Cheryl joined SDH at the start of October 2018 as SHEQ Coordinator.
Cheryl has worked in various roles over the years. She has an NVQ Level 3 and ICA foundation in Customer Service. In more recent years she worked for Yorkshire Water in Developer Services Clean, but also assisted Developer Services Waste, Water Regulations, Fire Service and Customer Accounts.
While working for Yorkshire Water, Cheryl worked very closely with Morrison Utility Services regarding installation and disconnection of water supplies and mains. Cheryl also worked for Arqiva as Senior Coordinator for the Site Access Team, working closely with the SHEQ Team and Project Managers. She then went to work for Mono Consultants as a Project Coordinator on the Arqiva Project as well as assisting on Site Share
In the last 12 months she had a break from telecoms, working for a company as a Customer Complaints Coordinator, but also covered Health and Safety for the SHEQ Manager, taking IOSH Managing Safely.
Alan joined SDH in April 2019 as our Yard Supervisor based at Mill Royd Street. He brings with him 39 years of warehousing and logistics knowledge. Alan has the responsibility of issuing materials out to our engineers, keeping track of stock levels, receiving deliveries from our suppliers and organising storage.
Matthew is responsible for the maintenance of mechanical equipment and working in the Stores when not on deployment. He has recently moved onto assisting our Warehouse Co-ordinator and controls the stock in and out of the yard, issuing equipment to teams, accepting deliveries and is responsible for the maintenance of the storage yard. He ensures accurate records of inventory are maintainted and that all teams have the required items to carry out their work efficiently.
Lisa joined SDH in Sept 2018 as our Finance Assistant.
She is currently working alongside the Management Accountant to assist in the day to day running of the accounts department, mainly dealing with the purchase ledger.
Lisa has brought over 10 years of experience within the accounts sector to SDH.
City Fibre Community Liaison Office/Advisor
Fran joined the team in March 2019 as City Fibre Customer Liaison/Administrator.
Fran has over 5 years’ experience in Co-ordinating Projects and Overseas Sales, 13 years as an Exec Personal Assistant in the Banking Industry and over 5 years in Customer Service/Administration roles.
Support Services Administrator
Charlotte Culshaw recently joined SDH in 2018 as our Administrative Assistant and is now a Support Services Administrator.
Charlotte completed a degree in Business Management at Liverpool John Moores University.
She has previously gained transferable skills from university as well as the financial and insurance industry, putting these skills to practice to progress through the hierarchy within SDH.
Melissa recently joined SDH as an Administrator on the SHEQ team. Melissa brings extensive knowledge after spending seven years in the fast food industry, working her way through to Shift Management.
Melissa has knowledge of Health and Safety from her training with her previous employer and is First Aid trained.
Melissa is looking forward to new challenges and a future career with SDH.
Sarah started working for SDH in July 2018 as a Commercial Administrator.
She has previously worked in an Administration and Receptionist role for a local Plumbing and Heating Company & is keen to progress. She believes SDH will give her the opportunity to do so.
She is hard working and very customer orientated and is looking forward to tackling the challenges that come her way.
Loren joined SDH in April 2019 as a Receptionist and General Administrator to all different departments.
Before SDH, Loren previously worked in a variety of different roles but all consisting of administrative tasks and providing good customer service, whether it be over the phone or face to face.
Loren has completed numerous college courses including Public Services, Health and Social Care and Sports Leadership. Loren then went further to study Psychology with Criminology at Huddersfield University and more external qualification after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree and is keen to learn more within her role at SDH. Loren really enjoys working at the front desk of SDH and is confident when meeting and greeting visitors and clients, which is essential for delivering good customer service.
Demi joined the SDH team in February 2019 as a Junior Project Administrator to support the G.Fast project and team.
As a recent graduate from Nottingham Trent university. Demi gained a first-class honours degree in Fine Art. Demi has previously, worked in retail industry and hopes both her experience in retail and university where she learnt transferable skills from customer service to time management can help her move forward with her graduate career at SDH and develop her skills with the business.
